Due to rapid growth, Marathon has a Direct Position for a CNC Operator at a Steel Mill company located in Chattanooga, Tn.

Job Details:

  • This is a great Direct Hire opportunity!
  • 1st and 2nd  Shift Monday to Friday (40-50 hours per week)
  • Pay: Starting at $17.50 to $18.50

Job Duties:

  • Ability to perform intermediate CNC Lathe operations working from blueprints, drawings, and procedures
  • Set up the machines to process the raw materials and adjust specific settings
  • Prepare the raw materials for parts manufacturing and review prints / parts plans to ensure the correct materials are being used.
  • Use part drawings to determine part profiles, machining paths, set feeds and speeds, select tooling and fixtures, and make adjustments as required.
  • Operate overhead crane for lifting and moving materials
  • Basic welding
  • Uphold all Workplace Policies, Procedures and Safety Protocols
  • Complete all paperwork neatly and accurately
  • Ability to read and interpret layout details and parts lists, as well as use tape measure and calipers
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education:

  • High School graduate / GED or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in using Machining equipment like lathes, mills, or drills
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of work-related experience with steel machining equipment like lathes, mills, or drills
  • Basic programming skills in Fanuc style controls
