Job Description

Now Hiring Experienced Food Service Workers in San Antonio, TX!  Great opportunity working at San Antonio State Hospital helping prepare food and serve meals to individuals in the Supported Living Center.  This a full-time position Monday through Friday.  Hourly pay starts at $15.00 per hour.

Food Service Workers will be involved with meal preparation, assembly, and service. Care and attention to detail is needed for modified and regular dietary requirements. Food Service Workers will operate equipment for quantity cooking and perform regular sanitation of equipment, work areas, pots and pans, and trays.

Key duties include:

·        Assemble and serve meals and/or trays for clients/patients

·        Weigh and measure foods.

·        Prepare food for regular and modified diets and nourishments. This shall include entrees, starch, vegetables, salads, breads, beverages, and snacks. Serve as diet cook.

·        Clean and sanitize food service equipment, preparation and service areas, pots and pans, and tray service components.

·        Handle leftovers and opened items according to Department of State Health Services guidelines, which includes labeling with item’s name and date. Store leftovers.

Qualified Candidates will possess:

·        5 years of food service/customer service experience

·        Ability to operate quantity food service equipment, including mixer, convection and combination ovens, meat slicer, toaster, pot and pan machine sinks, and dish machines.

·        Must be able to weigh and measure food ingredients and portions

·        Follow instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures

·        Work as a team with coworkers

·        Basic English communication and math skills

·        Food handling certificate or willing to obtain

·        Ability to pass pre-employment background check

·        Ability to work either 6 AM to 2:30 PM or 11 AM to 7:30 PM Mon-Fri
