Job Description

Marathon Staffing is looking for a

Building Inspector I

 

 

 

What you’ll be doing

Performing highly skilled, technical inspection work in securing compliance with the Municipal Building Codes and related ordinances.

 

 

You will be responsible for…

·         Read and interpret building codes, plans, and specifications.

·         Examine methods or processes, making recommendations for changes, and assisting in the success of those changes for completion of inspection activities.

·         Inspect buildings and appurtenances in the process of construction for compliance with building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and zoning codes.

·         Enforce codes, ordinances and national standards meeting requirements.

·         Perform related duties as required.

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

·         Graduation from high school or GED.

·         Supplemental coursework in building construction and possession of a certification from the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO), International Code Council (ICC) or a major model code organization is preferred.

·         Any combination of training, education, and work experience equivalent to good (1 - 3 years) construction trade work experience.

·         Attainment of journey-level status in plumbing, electrical, structural, or mechanical construction is highly desirable.

·         Extensive (5+ years) customer contact in the private or public utility, construction industry, or building inspections field.

·         Experience operating a PC is preferred.

·         Must possess a valid Class D Arizona Driver's License.

What you need to know

·         Hourly Pay $23.61

·         Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Must be able to work variable hours)

·         Full Time (Up to 40 hours per week), Temporary (Up to 1 Year Assignment)

·         Located in Downtown Mesa
